Which light commercial vehicle should you choose to work in hard-to-reach areas?
Depending on your activity, you need to drive over unpaved, damaged or snow-covered roads, drive over muddy terrain, drive through fields or even drive through forests. To perform your activities seamlessly and with confidence, Renault Trucks offers you our range of light commercial vehicles for all terrains.
Standard Extended Grip: more driving pleasure
The Renault Trucks Master and the all-new Renault Trucks Trafic are equipped with a control system called 'Extended Grip'. On loose or very muddy ground, this system prevents the wheels from slipping and jamming, so that the wheels maintain a constant grip on the ground. If a wheel starts to slip, the system locks the final drive to prevent the wheel from spinning in the ruts. Extended Grip does not systematically prevent a wheel from slipping; under certain circumstances, it allows the wheel to continue spinning until it regains grip. All this is done electronically; the system is activated via a single button on the dashboard and should only be activated at speeds below 50 km/h.
Besides Extended Grip (standard), there are also "Mud and Snow" tyres, which are adapted to driving in difficult conditions such as mud or snow. For even more sturdiness, the engine is protected under the bonnet by an aluminium protection plate with a thickness of 2 mm, or 4 mm for heavy-duty applications. Finally, the front and rear wings limit splashing water on the bodywork.
Renault Trucks Master, the 4x4 of choice
Professionals in forestry, farming and construction need a light commercial vehicle that can comfortably drive on wet, muddy, snowy or winding roads. The Renault Trucks Master 4x4 was designed specifically for these applications. It has an integrated transmission that increases its working area, allowing it to drive even in the most difficult conditions. The 4x4 mode is available on single-wheel or two-wheel drive versions and should only be activated when necessary to optimise fuel consumption in two-wheel drive.
The dashboard-controlled gearbox has multiple modes that allow you to drive at very low speeds and effortlessly overcome obstacles (sand, cambers, stones, steep slopes, etc.), regardless of the load. The rear limited slip differential also guarantees perfect traction control in all conditions. Finally, the vehicle's ground clearance has been increased to 65 mm at the front and 58 mm at the rear with single mounting (45 mm with double mounting).
